About Me
I founded Orlando R. Torres Torregrosa, CPA with the same motivation that drives many entrepreneurs—the desire to build something of my own and deliver a higher level of service to the clients who trust me. After more than 30 years in public accounting, I knew it was time to apply my experience, judgment, and passion for client service in a way that reflects my own values: precision, transparency, and long-term partnership.
Professional Career
My Early Career
I earned my bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Puerto Rico, where I developed a strong technical foundation and a commitment to supporting the success of small businesses. I began my career providing bookkeeping and tax compliance services, reconciling bank accounts, maintaining general ledgers, processing payroll, and supporting clients with their monthly and annual tax obligations. This hands-on experience shaped how I work today—practical, attentive, and focused on empowering business owners to make informed decisions.
A Big-4 Professional Journey
My career later led me to KPMG LLP, where I spent more than two decades and ultimately served as a Managing Director. I led audit engagements across a broad range of industries—manufacturing, distribution, hospitality, state and local governments, nonprofit organizations, and employee benefit plans. During this time, I also performed internal quality reviews, served as a national instructor on technical topics, and contributed to the development of accounting training used across the firm’s national practice. These experiences strengthened my expertise and reinforced my commitment to accuracy, high standards, and continuous learning.
Recent Experience and New Beginnings
In 2023, I joined SingerLewak LLP as an Audit Partner supporting state and local governments and nonprofit organizations. I collaborated closely with the firm’s tax professionals and technology specialists to ensure clients received comprehensive, efficient service.
At the end of 2025, I chose to take the next step in my professional journey and establish my own practice—returning to my entrepreneurial roots and offering clients a more personalized, relationship-driven approach to accounting and advisory services.
Professional and Community Involvement
Beyond my practice, I am proud to serve on the Board of Directors of the Inland Caregiver Resource Center. I also remain active in the profession through my work with the California CPA Society Government A&A Committee and the Puerto Rico CPA Society CPE Committee.
